May 9 - Victory - Coronavirus
On this day, May 9, it is crucial to remember not only who won, but what we won over. The highest degree of selfishness, self-esteem, contempt, racism, and cruelty.
This arose gradually, in isolated cases, in the human soul, concentrating its forces in the power of the ruling elites and slowly but surely corrupting the souls and consciousnesses of people. Someone succumbed to this, and someone resisted.
We say every year: nothing is forgotten, nobody is forgotten. Yes, we remember and honor everything and everyone, we lay flowers respectfully paying tribute to those who saved us from the hands of terrible tyranny. But do we remember the lesson humanity went through? Are we aware of the likely consequences of an unsuccessful outcome?
The highest degree of selfishness, self-esteem, contempt, racism, and cruelty - have we eradicated these things. After all, they are the root causes of the war. Hitler or someone else - these are just characters who change over the centuries.
Faced with the virus these days, we are also trying to overcome it. We are doing everything possible to return to our “normal” life: to continue pumping oil in incredible quantities, to produce a massive pile of plastic, from which we then try to clean the cities. And the question arises: maybe we don’t need to go back to our “normal” life? Perhaps it’s time to “move on, to a new level,” again, drawing lessons and paying attention, not to the characters, but the root causes.
I believe that humanity as a whole needs to learn from the past, from those terrible times that our ancestors survived, from those awful times that we are experiencing now. And, to prevent the emergence of such things in the future: the highest degree of selfishness, self-esteem, contempt, racism, and cruelty.
